otsoNY Celebrates its 5th Birthday
Today, otsoNY celebrates its 5th Birthday!
This is a happy occasion for otsoNY, but much more significant to creator Mark Rogers, who began work on the project all those years ago.
otsoNY was founded in 2009 to give an insight into the real locations that film makers use in New York City. Since its founding, one of the major constants of otsoNY is that it has continuously evolved to make it easier to view the vast number of film titles available. The very first batch of films to grace the pages of otsoNY included the romantic comedy, “13 Going on 30” starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, where a 13 year old girl plays a game on her 13th birthday and wakes up the next day as a 30 year old woman.
The Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock romantic comedy, “Two Week’s Notice”, which incidentally was the first film to be shot in Manhattan after the horrific 9/11 disaster. Moving from her role in the highly successful 24, Elisha Cuthbert plays the part of complicated and elusive girl in “My Sassy Girl”.
Another film that was included in the first batch was the hugely successful, “One Fine Day” starring the glamour-pairing of Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney. Playing the part of an architect and mother, Michelle Pfeiffer has her day turned upside down when she meets Jack Taylor played by Clooney, a newspaper columnist and part-time father.
Since those early days, the website has continued to grow and now hosts over 1000 film titles as well as photo galleries, news stories, movie trailers, location maps, book reviews and much more.
