The Only Living Boy in New York Movie Trailer

1 November 2017

Coming to Amazon Prime Video on Friday 3rd November is the drama, “The Only Living Boy in New York”, directed by Marc Webb and written by Allan Loeb. The film stars Callum Turner, Kate Beckinsale, Pierce Brosnan, Cynthia Nixon, and Jeff Bridges, and tells the story of Thomas Webb, the son of a publisher and his artistic wife, who has just graduated from college and is trying to find his place in the world. Moving from his parents’ Upper West Side apartment to the Lower East Side, he befriends his neighbour played by veteran Jeff Bridges, a shambling alcoholic writer who dispenses worldly wisdom alongside healthy shots of whiskey. Thomas’ world begins to shift when he discovers that his long-married father played by Pierce Brosnan is having an affair with a seductive younger woman played by Kate Beckinsale. Determined to break up the relationship, Thomas ends up sleeping with his father’s mistress, launching a chain of events that will change everything he thinks he knows about himself and his family.

The film was originally released in August 2017 by Roadside Attractions and Amazon Studios, and received mainly negative reviews due to its less-than convincing storyline.

Shot in New York City, locations included West 42nd Street near to Byrant Park, the apartment building at 32 West 40th Street and Byrant Park Place, outside the Zadig & Voltaire store on Mercer Street between Prince Street and West Houston Street, Washington Square Park, and 151 Ludlow Street.
