Is it Just a Rumour?

2 January 2015

Throughout October 2014, there were rumours that there would be a third instalment of the hugely successful “Sex and the City” movie franchise. To date though, these rumours have yet to prompt an official announcement from the film company or any of the original cast members; Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall. There has however, been some tweeting from Sarah Jessica Parker with Kristin Davis and more recently Kim Cattrall has finally shared her thoughts on rumours surrounding “Sex and the City 3”, saying that she takes them as a terrific compliment and that it would be a really wonderful reunion if the project went ahead.

Film: Sex and the City 3

Although all four actresses have been fairly busy in 2014 with Sarah Jessica Parker recently finishing work on the comedy, “All Roads Lead to Rome”, Kristin Davis in between seasons of the television show, “Bad Teacher”, Cynthia Nixon finishing work on two film projects, “Stockholm, Pennsylvania” and “The Adderall Diaries”, and Kim Cattrall’s “Sensitive Skin” television series coming to an end, 2015 would be an ideal time for the project to be given the green light.

Ghostbusters Reboot

Another project that has been on the back-burner for years is “Ghostbusters 3” or what it is now referred to as the “Untitled Ghostbusters Reboot”. With the sad passing of Harold Ramis in 2014 and the stories of Bill Murray passing up on the project, it has now lead to a new rumour that the cast will be an all lady affair. Paul Feig is the man behind the reboot, who recently discussed his vision for an all-female team of Ghostbusters in Empire Magazine. Stating that he would like the reboot to be scarier than the 1980’s version, but at the same time, the “Bridemaids” director is keen to retain a family-rating. Details of the casting have yet to be revealed, although Rebel Wilson and Melissa McCarthy have both been linked to the production.

Film: The Amazing Spider-Man 3

And finally, there are rumours going round that Andrew Garfield will be kicked out of "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise after having done the first two films of the supposed trilogy. In the wake of the recent Sony hack, wherein supposed email conversations inside of Sony were leaked. Celeb Beat reported that Marvel is stepping up to the production of the franchise and the gigantic company wants another actor swinging between skyscrapers as Peter Parker, making the upcoming projects non-canonical. The site also said that Spider-Man's purported participation in the upcoming superhero movie "Captain America: Civil War" requires Garfield's exit. Furthermore, Venture Post reported that "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" won't be out until 2018, so that is roughly more than three long years from now.
