Returning from the Summer Break, otsoNY’s first port of call is the new Jennifer Lopez movie “Hustlers” which is released in cinemas this month.

The movie centres around a group of strippers in New York City, led by an aging and ambitious single mother, as they lie, steal, and hustle dozens of wealthy men when the sex industry bottoms out during the late-2000s financial crisis. A journalist covering the story for a magazine interviews one of the ringleaders and tries to figure out where it all went wrong.

The movie stars Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and Cardi B, and was shot in just three months, starting in March and wrapping in May 2019. A scene that plays out in the film featuring JLo was shot at the corner of Sullivan Street and Prince Street. Other locations include Trading Post at 170 John Street, West 52nd Street and 11th Avenue, Old Slip and Water Street, East 55th Street and 1st Avenue, and 43rd Avenue and 21st Street in Long Island City.
