The official trailer for the forthcoming rebooted Ghostbusters film was released this week, and pretty much confirms the fears of many that the movie which is due for release this summer will be terrible. With an all-female cast, the project received bad press from the outset, and following the release of the posters and trailer, fans of the 80s franchise have been voicing their opinions all over the Internet film forums. The general sensors is that Ghostbusters 3 will be a huge flop and for anyone involved a complete embarrassment.
otsoNY has tried to stay neutral in this war of words, but having sat through the 3 minute the trailer this weekend and been completely unimpressed, knowing full well that the majority of the film, if not all was filmed in Boston and not New York, the chances of this movie replicating the success of the original are so far from achievable, the studio would be better to trash the master tapes and forget they ever agreed to it.
On the plus side, fans of the franchise have re-edited the trailer to 51 seconds, placing the original Ray Parker Jr soundtrack over the top and have succeeded in producing a far better trailer than that of the studio. Nevertheless, it still won’t save the movie which headed straight for an ice-berg.
The movie is due for release in July 2016.
