Looking ahead to 2015, and there are a number of NYC based films currently in production.

First on the list and due for release in September 2015 is The Intern, starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, who with this project chalks up his 31st New York based film. Writer Nancy Meyers directs this comedy about a fashion website that brings in an elderly intern.

Another project due for release next year is The Great Gilly Hopkins, a film about an 11-year-old girl who finds herself shuffled from foster home to foster home until she meets Maime Trotter, played by Kathy Bates. The film stars Julia Stiles, Glenn Close and Sophie Nelisse.

Other projects currently in production include The Nest, Ricki and the Flash, Southpaw, Daniel Radcliffe’s latest offering Trainwreck and Pixels starring Adam Sandler, Ashley Benson and Michelle Monaghan.
