A teaser trailer for the forthcoming film, The Walk has been released this week.

The Walk is an upcoming biographical film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Christopher Browne and Zemeckis. It is based on the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit's walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on August 7, 1974. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, Steve Valentine and Charlotte Le Bon. The film is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2015 by TriStar Pictures.

Mila Kunis has previously starred in two other New York based films; Friends with Benefits and Black Swan, whereas Robin Williams has appeared in seven; Awakenings, Old Dogs, Noel, Moscow on the Hudson, Death to Smoochy, Seize the Day and most famously in The King Fisher.

Although the film is set in New York City, principal photography took place in Montreal between May and August last year. The original title for this film was the same as the novel it is based upon, "To Reach the Clouds." Later the title was altered to "To Walk the Clouds" and finally "The Walk."
