The pilot episode of The Tomorrow People aired on the CW Network last week with mixed reviews. Some critics compared it to the sci-fi film, Jumper and the TV show, Heroes.

The show was developed by Greg Berlanti, Phil Klemmer and Julie Plec and is based on the original British television series of the same name. The series follows a group of young people who possess powers as the result of human evolution.

Set in New York, although following the pilot episode, it is rumoured that production will move to Vancouver. One location used was John Street and Pearl Street in Brooklyn.

Actress Peyton List, previously seen in Mad Men, 902010 and Smallville, plays Cara Coburn with supporting actor Luke Mitchell playing her sidekick, John Young. Robbie Amell who plays Stephen Jameson is the main character and who has previously starred in How I Met Your Mother, CSI:NY and Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous.
