The New York-based 2014 romantic comedy, “The Other Woman” starred three of the most recognisable actresses, Cameron Diaz, who played a New York attorney, Leslie Mann, as an unsuspecting wife whose husband is cheating on her with Cameron Diaz’s character and Kate Upton, who played a mistress, who was able to along a beach in slow-motion. Though there was one other unnamed woman who was also involved with Mann’s husband, but at the time of the release at the cinema was only known for her modelling achieves having been crowd Miss USA, and then Miss Universe in 2012 becoming the first winner from the United States since Brook Lee in 1997. The raven-haired beauty in question was Olivia Culpo, who appeared in a scene set in the Bahamas where she appeared beside a swimming pool .

The American model and former beauty pageant title holder has since appeared in several films including “American Satan”, “I Feel Pretty” and “Reprisal” alongside action star Bruce Willis. Culpo is also set to appear in a new television show called “Paradise City”, and two more films, “The Swing of Things” and “Tired Lungs”.

Olivia Culpo was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, one of five children of Peter and Susan Culpo. She has two older siblings, Pete and Aurora, and two younger, Gus and Sophie. Their restaurateur father co-owns Boston businesses including Parish Café and The Lower Depths Tap Room. She was raised in the Edgewood neighbourhood of Cranston, Rhode Island. She is of Italian descent with some Irish ancestry from her mother's side.

In 2010, she was signed by the Boston modelling agency Maggie, Inc. After winning the 2012 Miss Rhode Island USA competition, the first pageant she entered, she went on to win the Miss USA 2012 pageant in June 2012. In the following month, the city of Cranston, Rhode Island held a homecoming celebration honouring Culpo for her pageant win. At an outdoor ceremony held at Cranston City Hall, Cranston Mayor Allan Fung presented Culpo with the key to the city.

Culpo represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant that was held in December 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She won the competition and was crowned Miss Universe 2012, becoming the eighth representative from the United States to win the title and the first since 1997. Culpo also became the first Rhode Islander to win the Miss Universe title. She succeeded outgoing titleholder Leila Lopes from Angola.

In January 2013, Culpo visited Indonesia for three weeks and helped crown the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2013 in February in Jakarta. She also visited Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali during her visit. In Jakarta, Culpo hosted a discussion with young Indonesians for the United Nations Population Fund on HIV and youth prevention at the United States Embassy's cultural center of America.

In September 2013, Culpo walked in the Sherri Hill fashion show held at the Trump Tower in New York City. Culpo was in India from late September until early October, and during her visit, she reportedly ran into trouble after doing a commercial photoshoot at the Taj Mahal. In November 2013, she crowned Gabriela Isler of Venezuela as her successor. During her reign, Culpo travelled to Indonesia, Russia, Ecuador, Morocco, The Bahamas, Canada, England, India, and numerous trips around the United States. Culpo appeared in the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and also modelled for L'Oréal and Kipling.
