The 2019 action thriller “21 Bridges” comes to otsoNY next month.

Directed by Brian Kirk and starring Chadwick Boseman as an NYPD detective who is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers played by Stephan James and Taylor Kitsch, after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all 21 bridges to prevent any entry or exit from the iconic island. In supporting roles were Sienna Miller, Keith David, and J. K. Simmons.

Although the film was supposed to be set in New York, there were several scenes shot in neighbouring Philadelphia, of which included the nightclub scene, the interior Meatpacking scene at Kissin Fresh Meats, and Chinatown.

Norton had been developing the film since the early 2000s, though he was uncertain as to whether he would direct. In February 2014, the project was set, with Norton directing. Production commenced in February 2018 in New York City, with Norton, Willem Dafoe, Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Alec Baldwin, among others, set to star. Bobby Cannavale and Dallas Roberts joined the cast a few weeks later. On March 22, a fire broke out in the cellar of the building where production was taking place, beneath the film's set, which led to the production being temporarily suspended. Additional filming took place in December 2018 in Troy, New York.
