Though some of the new film was shot in New York City, Spider-Man travels to four new locations in Europe: Berlin in Germany, Venice in Italy, and London in England. Tom Holland is returning as the title character for the new film, which will be released in the UK on July 3 and in the US on July 5.

Principal photography began on location in Hertfordshire, England in July 2018, under the working title "Fall of George" with Matthew J. Lloyd serving as director of photography. Filming also took place in London, with filming locations including East London, and at London Stansted Airport. Shortly after the start of filming, set photos revealed Hemky Madera would reprise his role as Mr. Delmar, the owner of a local bodega, and J.B. Smoove and Numan Acar joined the cast. By early August, Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders were confirmed to be appearing in the film, reprising their respective roles of Nick Fury and Maria Hill from previous MCU films, and Remy Hii joined the cast later in the month.
