Mo' Better Blues (1990)

Talented trumpeter Bleek Gilliam (Denzel Washington) is obsessed by his music and indecisiveness about his girlfriends Indigo (Joie Lee) and Clarke (Cynda Williams). But when he is forced to come to the aid of his manager and childhood friend (Spike Lee), Bleek finds his world more fragile that he ever imagined.

  The Cherry Lane Theatre was built in 1817 and is New York City's oldest, continuously running off-Broadway theater. The Cherry Lane contains a 179-seat main stage and a 60-seat studio.  

Tower Records, 1961 Broadway and West 66th Street, Manhattan.
  The Tower Records store has since closed down.  

Brooklyn Bridge, Lower East Side, Manhattan.
  The Brooklyn Bridge, built btw 1869 and 1883, connects Manhattan with New York's most populous borough, Brooklyn, at the time one of the country's largest cities. The bridge is one of the most magnificent landmarks in New York.

The Dizzy Club, 9 East 18th Street and 5th Avenue, Manhattan.
