Movie Projects in Production

There are several NYC movie projects currently in production.

Bad Hurt stars Karen Allen and Ashley Williams. Turn the clock back to the late 80’s and Karen Allen starred in the New York Christmas Classic, Scrooged alongside Bill Murray. Ashley Williams is no stranger to NYC based films, she has starred in Margin Call and more recently, Something Borrowed.

Also currently in production is the J.C. Chandor thriller, A Most Violent Year, which is due for release in December. Set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically one of the most violent years in the city's history, and centred on a the lives of an immigrant and his family trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities as the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain and David Oyelowo.

Action-man of the moment, Liam Neeson stars alongside Man on a Ledge actors Ed Harris and Genesis Rodriguez in the crime drama, Run All Night. An aging hitman is forced to take on his brutal former boss to protect his estranged son and his family. New York locations include Madison Square Garden and Queens Hospital Center.

Kristen Stewart, famous for the Twilight series is currently working on a film project with Julianne Moore, Kate Bosworth and Alec Baldwin called Still Alice, where a psychology professor discovers that she is suffering from an early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. New York City is familiar territory for all of these actors; Kristen Stewart starred alongside Jodie Foster in Panic Room; Julianne Moore starred in The Forgotten, Trust the Man, The Hours and Laws of Attraction; Kate Bosworth starred in The Girl in the Park; and Alec Baldwin starred in It’s Complicated, Suburban Girl, Shortcut to Happiness and the 80’s classic, Working Girl.

Finally, Mania Days starring Katie Holmes is currently in production and has recently shot scenes at the Shakespeare & Co. bookstore at 716 Broadway. The film follows two manic depressives who meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance that brings out all of the beauty and horror of their condition.
