Unreleased New York Film

22 November 2017

Some films make it to the big screen, whereas some films only make it to small screen. And then there are some films that don't even see the light of day. A good example of this is the film "Gods Behaving Badly" which was mainly shot at JC Studios in Brooklyn, and starred a host of famous names including Sharon Stone, Christopher Walken, Alicia Silverstone, Oliver Platt, and Rosie Perez suffered at the hands of the critics and as such never made it passed the premiere screening at the 10th Rome International Film Festival in November 2013.

The unreleased film adaptation of Marie Phillips' best-selling satire novel of the same name, was about a young mortal couple who encountered a group of Greek gods living in New York City. It was Marc Turtletaub's feature-length directorial debut, and according to Variety's review of the only public screening, actress Phylicia Rashad, was announced as the character 'Demeter', and actress Kathleen Turner, whose name still appeared in the credits as 'Styx', both were not in the final version.

Since that screening the film has not been shown publicly or been released on any digital formats, and as such the only real evidence to the existance of this film are the handfiul of screen shots available from various Internet sources.
