Could this be the worst NYC movie ever made?
Sharknado’s first outing came to the TV screen in 2013. Los Angeles was the destination for the deadly shark attack. Since then, and one year on... the makers have decided to release a follow up “straight to TV” movie. Tara Reid, better known for her appearances in the American Pie comedies and Van Wilder: Party Liaison is back as April Wexler. This time the action unfolds in New York City. A freak weather system turns its deadly fury on NYC, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites, and only April and Fin Shepard, played by Ian Ziering, can save the Big Apple. It is clear to see from the online trailer that New York has been superimposed into the backdrop and at times the blue-screen effects look like they have been created on a Commodore 64!
Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, the movie also stars Kari Wuhrerm Judah Friedlander and Vivica A. Fox. Howard Stern was offered a camero appearance as himself, but turned it down. Wise move, Howard!
The movie premiere’s on July 30 on TV network, Syfy. |
