The extraordinary rise of Michael Jackson (Jaafar Jackson), from his early years as the gifted young lead singer of the Jackson 5 (Juliano Krue Valdi) to his emergence as one of the most influential entertainers in the world. Guided by his ambitious father, Joe Jackson (Colman Domingo), and supported by his mother, Katherine Jackson (Nia Long), Michael and his brothers—including Jermaine (Jamal R. Henderson), Marlon (Tre Horton), Tito (Rhyan Hill) and Jackie (Joseph David-Jones)—move from local performances to international stardom. otsoNY Comments: Although New York City features in this story, the film makers never shot any scenes in Manhattan. The famous Studio 54 nightclub facde was recreated in LA as was the interior.

otsoNY Comments: The exterior shot of the offices for Epic Records was at 1345 on 6th Avenue at the corner of West 55th Street, but it is highly unlikely that they shot the meeting scene inside the building.

otsoNY Comments: This scene was supposed to be shot outside the Epic Records offices, but obviously doesn't match that of Manhattan's 6th Avenue.
