Max Fielder (Chevy Chase), a stressed air traffic controller whose life spirals after being exposed to radioactive waste, giving him telekinetic powers. Max initially uses these powers for petty revenge and personal gain, but as his abilities grow, so does his instability. His erratic behavior culminates in chaos at a party, leading Max to realize his powers are a reflection of his inner turmoil. In the end, Max works to repair his relationships and regain control over his life as his powers fade.
