otsoNY Comments: Neary’s was a renowned Irish pub located on East 57th Street near First Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, operating from 1967 until its closure in 2024. The establishment was founded by Jimmy Neary, an Irish immigrant who built his career working in New York hospitality while also serving in the United States Army. Celebrated for its traditional Irish menu and warm, authentic atmosphere, Neary’s attracted a distinguished clientele that included political figures, prominent business leaders, writers, and entertainers. Following Jimmy Neary’s passing in 2021, the pub continued to operate under the stewardship of his children until it ultimately closed in 2024.
