Katie (Briana Evigan) is a Royal Princess who is tired of her diamond-studded privileged life and the royal responsibilities that come with being a princess. Desiring to see how regular people live, she finally gets the courage to leave it all behind by escaping one day to explore New York over the Christmas period, which puts her in the path of a wonderful young man and good Samaritan who sweeps her off of her feet.

otsoNY Comments: As so often happens with movies made for TV, the actual filming locations are normally not in New York. In this opening scene, library footage is used to show Central Park and the hotels in the distance. Next shot, the main actresses is seen looking out of the hotel window, and the link between New York and in this case, Canada is seamlessly completed.
