In December 1962, eight-year-old aviation enthusiast Jeff (Clark Shotwell) travels from New York to Los Angeles with his mother Helen (Kelly Eviston-Quinnett), who hopes to start a new life as an actress in Hollywood. During the cross-country journey, Jeff becomes fascinated with flight attendant Doris, makes new friends, and experiences the excitement of flying aboard several aircraft, including a Boeing 707. When a retiring pilot at LAX recognises Jeff’s passion for aviation and gives him his pilot wings, the moment leaves a lasting impression. Years later, Jeff reveals that the journey inspired him to become a pilot and ultimately shaped the course of his life.
