otsoNY Comments: The Crawford family’s striking midcentury-modern home, which provides the unsettling backdrop to much of the film, is a real property located in Armonk, Westchester County, New York. Known as Beckoning Path, the secluded woodland estate now operates as a private wellness retreat. The house was originally designed by Jens Quistgaard, chief designer of the Scandinavian homeware brand Dansk, for the company’s founders, Martha and Ted Nierenberg. In 2014, the property underwent a sympathetic renovation by BarlisWedlick Architects, preserving its distinctive architectural character while transforming it into the wellness retreat it remains today.
